Baseball Recap: Iroquois West Falls Short of Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Iroquois West can now relate to. They lost 11-1 to the Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond Knights on Monday.

Iroquois West saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylan Pheifer, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Iroquois West has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-15 record this season. As for Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-10.

Iroquois West does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond, they will challenge St. Joseph-Ogden at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Spartans' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
