Basketball Game Preview: Skyline Falcons vs. Mead Mavericks

Skyline is 1-9 against Mead since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Skyline Falcons will host the Mead Mavericks at 5:30 p.m.

Skyline is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 12th straight game on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 64-12 loss at the hands of Horizon. The Falcons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-6.

Meanwhile, Mead entered their tilt with Fairview on Tuesday with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. They were the clear victor by a 50-26 margin over the Knights. Given the Mavericks' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Knights are ranked 126th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Skyline's defeat dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Mead, they pushed their record up to 17-2 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home.

Skyline was taken down by Mead 77-27 in their previous matchup back in February of 2022. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Skyline was down 42-12.
