Centennial came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They took a blow against the Duluth Wildcats, falling 51-14. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Despite the loss, Centennial still got an impressive performance from Jake Hickox, who picked up 109 receiving yards and two TDs.

Duluth's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Shamar Banner, who rushed for 79 yards and a pair of scores on only eight carries, and also threw for 114 yards and one touchdown on only nine passes. Demarcus Rogers helped out on the ground, rushing for 132 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Centennial's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Centennial has already played their next contest, a 42-0 victory against Johns Creek on the 29th. As for Duluth, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 20-14 win against Shiloh on the 29th.
