Football Game Preview: Fleming Colonels vs. Northside Vikings + How To Watch

The Fleming Colonels will head out to square off against the Northside Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fleming will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.

Fleming is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past William Byrd, posting a 55-7 victory. The Colonels might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 21 points or more this season.

Josiah Ragland was his usual excellent self, rushing for 313 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 14.9 yards per carry. Anaudre Haynes was another key player, rushing for 65 yards and one TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Fleming was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 420 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Fleming didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Daedae Faulkner, Ragland, and Jovanny Gonzalez picked up one apiece. That interception was Gonzalez's first of the season.

Northside hadn't beaten Franklin County on the road since October 18, 2019 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Vikings slipped by the Eagles 24-23.

Northside's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.7 points over those games. As for Fleming, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Everything came up roses for Fleming against Northside in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 34-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Colonels since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
