Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Beech Grove). Their defense stepped up to hand the Elwood Panthers a 9-0 shutout on Saturday. Maycol Ortiz-Sanchez was a massive factor in the win as he booted in four goals all by himself.

Beech Grove picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-8. As for Elwood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.

Looking ahead, Beech Grove will be taking part in a tournament against Ben Davis at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Elwood, they will head out on the road to challenge Daleville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Elwood will be up against Daleville's rather soft defense (which has allowed 7.58 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
