Volleyball Recap: Santa Cruz Valley Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Santa Cruz Valley had lost eight straight at home dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped down to 3-6 to make it nine. They came up short against the Arizona Lutheran Academy Coyotes, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Dust Devils of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

As for Arizona Lutheran Academy, their victory ended a five-match drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-14. They not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since August 29th (when they won 3-0).

Arizona Lutheran Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Emma Drexler out in front who had 13 digs and two aces. That's the most aces Drexler has posted over her last nine contests. Elie Drexler was another key player, getting four aces and three digs.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Santa Cruz Valley will venture away from home to challenge Coolidge at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Arizona Lutheran Academy, they will take on Veritas Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
