Basketball Recap: Lincoln-Way East Takes a Loss

Lincoln-Way East suffered their biggest defeat since December 14, 2024 on Friday. They were beaten by the Homewood-Flossmoor Vikings 68-41. While losing is never fun, the Griffins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 130th, while the Vikings are ranked 18th).

Lincoln-Way East's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Homewood-Flossmoor, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-2.

Lincoln-Way East and Brother Rice will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Homewood-Flossmoor, they and Thornton will face off at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Homewood-Flossmoor knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Thornton likes a good challenge.
