Softball Game Preview: Samuell Spartans vs. Wilson Wildcats

The Samuell Spartans will face off against the Wilson Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Samuell made up a huge gap compared to their last game against North Mesquite, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Samuell put the hurt on North Mesquite with a sharp 14-5 victory on Saturday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Spartans as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Wilson came tearing into Monday's matchup with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Wranglers as they made off with a 12-4 victory. Considering the Wildcats have won seven games by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Wilson pushed their record up to 10-4 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Samuell, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
