Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Aidan Jezowski and Rhett Walsh Lead First Academy to Victory

First Academy had to endure a four-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They enjoyed a cozy 51-36 victory over the Liberty Christian Prep Lions on Friday. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lions, too.

First Academy was led to victory by Rhett Walsh and Aidan Jezowski. Walsh went 8 of 20 en route to 19 points, to go along with eight steals and six boards, while Jezowski dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave Walsh a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Zuri Smith, who posted four points, to go along with five assists and three steals.

First Academy's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Liberty Christian Prep, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

First Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 53-36 defeat against Geneva on the 9th. As for Liberty Christian Prep, they will square off against Hampden DuBose Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
