Capital faced Rocky Mountain in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Golden Eagles narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Grizzlies 8-7. This was a revenge game for the Golden Eagles: when they faced off against the Grizzlies back in April, they had to take a 6-2 defeat.

Lizzy Turpen was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. McKenna Chavez was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Capital lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. They are 9-3 when they post two or more home runs.

Capital's victory bumped their record up to 16-12. As for Rocky Mountain, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-14 record this season.

As of now, neither Capital nor Rocky Mountain have any future games scheduled.
