Basketball Recap: Ashley Takes a Loss

Ashley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against the Carson City-Crystal Eagles, falling 56-35. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bears of the 44-33 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Carson City-Crystal's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaah Kirvan, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 10 points and eight steals. The dominant performance gave Kirvan a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Klouse Andrews, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 14 points.

Ashley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Carson City-Crystal, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-7.

Ashley will face off against Webberville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ashley is facing Webberville at the right time seeing as Webberville is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Carson City-Crystal, they will square off against Fowlerville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
