Baseball Game Preview: Winthrop Vikings vs. Amesbury Redhawks

The Winthrop Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Amesbury Redhawks at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Winthrop fell victim to Masconomet Regional and their airtight pitching crew on Sunday. They came up short against the Chieftains, falling 10-0. The loss continues a trend for the Vikings in their meetings with the Chieftains: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, Amesbury suffered their closest defeat since April 29, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Newburyport by a score of 3-1. The Redhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
