Softball Recap: Frontier Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

Frontier won the last time they faced Lemoore and things went their way on Wednesday too. Everything went the Frontier Titans' way against the Lemoore Tigers as the Frontier Titans made off with a 9-2 win. The Titans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by six runs or more this season.

Baden Conley made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Conley was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ryleigh Garcia, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Charley Hawkins was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Frontier was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .520. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .355 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Frontier pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Lemoore, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Coming up, Frontier will look to defend their home field on Friday against Wasco at 4:00 p.m. The last three games Wasco has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Lemoore, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Sierra Pacific at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
