Volleyball Recap: McEwen Warriors vs. West Creek Coyote
McEwen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the West Creek Coyote. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Coyote when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
McEwen came incredibly close to winning: the sets they lost were decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-22, 17-25, 28-26.
West Creek can attribute much of their success to Jemma Walker, who had eight digs and three aces. Another player making a difference was Lorelei Castaneda, who had 11 digs.
McEwen's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for West Creek, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.
McEwen will square off against East Hickman County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for West Creek, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 defeat against Springfield on the 2nd.
