Baseball Recap: Sparkman Comes Up Short

Sparkman fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Dickson County on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 3-1.

Sparkman has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season. As for Dickson County, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season.

Sparkman will host Athens at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Golden Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Senators' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Dickson County, they will challenge Henry County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. This will be the Cougars' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
