Recap: St. James Wildcats vs. Union Parish Farmers
The St. James Wildcats and the Union Parish Farmers squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the St. James Wildcats had to settle for second. They and the Farmers were almost perfectly matched up, but they suffered an agonizing 36-35 loss. St. James' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, St. James still got an impressive performance from Brayden Williams, who rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 164 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Kobe Brown, who picked up 111 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Leading Union Parish to victory were Jordan Hill and Jy?marion Island. Hill rushed for 111 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries, while Island rushed for 178 yards and two touchdowns. Hill was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Union Parish's defensive line and their five sacks. Leading the way was Treyvon Ward and his two sacks.
St. James' loss dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Union Parish, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
St. James does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Union Parish also has no future games currently scheduled.
