Softball Recap: River Valley Dust Devils vs. ALA - West Foothills Guardians

River Valley blew ALA - West Foothills out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday ALA - West Foothills got their revenge. The Dust Devils fell just short of the Guardians by a score of 4-2. The Dust Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sophia Reyes was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Reyes was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run.

In other batting news, Aaliyah Yanez made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

River Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for ALA - West Foothills, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-3.

Coming up, River Valley will challenge Odyssey Institute at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for ALA - West Foothills, they will face off against Florence at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
