Basketball Recap: Waskom Comes Up Short

Waskom lost against Union Grove back in December of 2019 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Waskom Wildcats took a hard 62-45 fall against the Union Grove Lions.

Union Grove's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jace Roberts, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 21 boards. Those 21 boards gave Roberts a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hudson Wightman, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 15 points.

Waskom's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Union Grove, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.

Waskom didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 58-49 defeat against White Oak on the 14th. Union Grove has also already played their next game, a 57-42 loss against Hawkins on the 17th.
