Volleyball Recap: Desert Hills Wins High-Profile Matchup Against Crimson Cliffs

Desert Hills faced Crimson Cliffs in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Thunder walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Mustangs. Winning may never get old, but the Thunder sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Desert Hills was especially dominant in the first set. The final score came out to 25-12, 20-25, 28-26, 25-22.

Sam Spencer was nothing short of spectacular: she had 22 digs and eight aces. Those eight aces gave her a new career-high.

Spencer wasn't the only good servers: Desert Hills was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 23 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in five consecutive matchups.

Desert Hills' win bumped their record up to 19-8. As for Crimson Cliffs, with the loss, they broke their five-match winning streak and moved their record to 19-7.

Desert Hills will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Snow Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on the 16th. As for Crimson Cliffs, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Dixie on the 7th.
