Soccer Game Preview: Glenvar vs. Chatham

The Glenvar Highlanders will take on the Chatham Cavaliers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Glenvar will be looking to extend their current 15-game winning streak.

Glenvar is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They never let Radford get on the board and left with a 2-0 win.

Davin Tate and Camryn Stevens scored both of Glenvar's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 57 goals.

Meanwhile, Chatham strolled into their game on Tuesday with an undefeated record and they left with the same. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Cavaliers who were credited with the victory. Chatham got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to Nelson County's two.

Glenvar's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up four goals over those nine games. As for Chatham, their win bumped their record up to 16-0-1.

Everything went Glenvar's way against Chatham in their previous matchup back in May of 2022, as Glenvar made off with an 8-0 victory. Will the Highlanders repeat their success, or do the Cavaliers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
