Basketball Recap: Needville Gets the Win

Needville won the last time they faced Bay City, and Bohdan Zeitz did his part to make sure it happened again. The Needville Bluejays put the hurt on the Bay City Blackcats with a sharp 67-47 win on Tuesday thanks in part to Zeitz, who shot 6-for-8 from long range and dropped a double-double with 29 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Despite the defeat, Bay City saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Javius Andrews went 12 for 19 to rack up 33 points. Those 33 points set a new season-high mark for Andrews. The team also got some help courtesy of Adriene 'AJ' Molina, who posted eight points and six rebounds.

Needville's victory bumped their record up to 9-16. As for Bay City, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season.

Needville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 59-44 loss against Brazosport on the 7th. As for Bay City, they have also already played their next game, a 59-44 win against Columbia on the 7th.
