Basketball Game Preview: Kuemper Knights vs. Creston Panthers

The Kuemper Knights will venture away from home to face off against the Creston Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Kuemper's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight games.

Last Tuesday, Kuemper was fully in charge, breezing past Clarinda 80-46. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 contests by 27 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Creston humbled Shenandoah with a 66-33 victory. While fans of the Panthers might be used to big wins, the 33-point margin marked the team's biggest one yet.

Kuemper pushed their record up to 15-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 37.7 points. As for Creston, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Everything went Kuemper's way against Creston when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as Kuemper made off with a 91-65 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kuemper since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
