Volleyball Recap: Camp Verde Beats Phoenix Christian for Their Third Straight Win

Camp Verde had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Phoenix Christian Cougars by a score of 3-1. The Cowboys have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cougars, too.

Camp Verde was dominant in they sets they won, taking each by at least 14 points. The final score came out to 25-4, 25-9, 22-25, 25-11.

Page Oothoudt paced Camp Verde's offense, picking up 13 kills. Oothoudt were helped by Ashlyn Durnez and IreLinn Chavez-Flanagan, who contributed 17 assists each. Clancy Murdock controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.

Camp Verde's victory bumped their record up to 18-10. As for Phoenix Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Camp Verde is set to face off against their familiar foe Scottsdale Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Phoenix Christian will challenge rival Madison Highland Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
