Baseball Preview: St. Mary's Pirates vs. Limon Badgers

St. Mary is 0-5 against Limon since June of 2021 but things could change on Wednesday. The Pirates will head out to face off against the Badgers at 4:30 p.m. St. Mary's is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.

On Saturday, St. Mary's made easy work of Florence and carried off a 16-5 win. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Huskies recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Bret Stewart made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Stewart was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. In other batting news, Ron Karin and Ryan Strub did most of the damage at the plate: Karin got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI, while Strub got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.
