Basketball Recap: South Decatur Comes Up Short

South Decatur lost against North Decatur back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The South Decatur Cougars were beaten by the North Decatur Chargers 64-37.

Despite the loss, South Decatur still got an impressive performance from Karson Templeton, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Bryant, who posted five points and four steals.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead North Decatur to victory, but perhaps none more so than Owen Eldridge, who went 7 of 11 on his way to 15 points and six rebounds. Logan O'Dell was another key player, going 6 of 9 on his way to 16 points and five rebounds.

South Decatur's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for North Decatur, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

South Decatur wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 51-40 defeat against Tri on the 7th. As for North Decatur, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-34 loss against South Ripley on the 7th.
