Baseball Recap: Sioux Central Comes Up Short

Sioux Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Gehlen Catholic Jays. On the bright side, the seven- run effort marked the Rebels' highest-scoring game to date.

Sioux Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Gehlen Catholic, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.

Sioux Central wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 5-1 defeat against Hinton on the 31st. As for Gehlen Catholic, they have also already played their next contest, a 17-4 win against George-Little Rock on the 30th.
