The Laurel Spartans and the DuVal Tigers will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Laurel is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
Laurel suffered their biggest loss since December 14, 2023 on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Parkdale, falling 44-17. Laurel has struggled against Parkdale recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, DuVal's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 67-32 loss at the hands of Suitland. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss DuVal has suffered against Suitland since February 6, 2018.
Laurel's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for DuVal, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
Laurel skirted past DuVal 59-57 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Laurel since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
