Recap: Howland Tigers vs. Hudson Explorers

The Howland Tigers fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Hudson Explorers on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Explorers by a score of 55-52. While losing is never fun, Howland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 355th, while Hudson is ranked 106th).

When it comes to explaining why Howland lost, one person who can't be blamed is Alex Henry. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points along with seven assists. The contest was Henry's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Anthony Chieffo was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds.

Howland now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Hudson, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.

Howland will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Struthers at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Hudson, they will be playing at home against Stow-Munroe Falls at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th. Stow-Munroe Falls is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
