Sterlington had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Carroll Bulldogs with a sharp 17-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won 13 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Sterlington's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-6. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Carroll, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9-1 record this season.
