Softball Recap: Pahranagat Valley Panthers vs. Round Mountain Knights

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Pahranagat Valley had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 victory over the Round Mountain Knights. The win was nothing new for Pahranagat Valley as they're now sitting on eight straight.

Hadee Walch made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off six hits. Walch has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than seven innings in five consecutive pitching appearances. Walch was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Megan Hansen was incredible, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Roxi Hughes, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Pahranagat Valley is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 23-7 record this season. As for Round Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 15-9.

Pahranagat Valley will be playing at home against Carlin at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
