Preview: Two Eagle River Eagles vs. Charlo Vikings
Two Eagle River is 1-9 against Charlo since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Two Eagle River Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Charlo Vikings at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Two Eagle River came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They managed a 86-80 victory over Heart Butte. The score was all tied up 42-42 at the break, but Two Eagle River was the better team in the second half.
Two Eagle River got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Talon Addison out in front who scored 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Malacye Piapot, who scored 18 points.
In what's become a running theme this season, Charlo gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 68-31 victory over Alberton. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Charlo.
Two Eagle River pushed their record up to 8-3 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 84.3 points per game. As for Charlo, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.
Two Eagle River came up short against Charlo in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 72-61. Can Two Eagle River avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
