Milford won the last time they faced Loveland and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Tigers. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by six runs or more this season.
Meghan McClellan was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with four RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Maddie Varner was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Lanie McCoy, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple.
The victory made it two in a row for Milford and bumps their season record up to 14-9. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Loveland, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-13.
