Volleyball Recap: Air Academy Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Air Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Lutheran Lions, falling 3-0. If the Kadets were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Lions when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-15, 25-12.

Defeat or not, Air Academy got some senior leadership from Shelbe Lyons and Jiselle Rodriquez. Lyons had 15 digs and three assists, while Rodriquez had three digs and three aces. Lyons has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last seven times she's played.

Leading Lutheran to victory were Kate Wilson and Madeline Miller. Wilson had ten digs and three aces, while Miller had eight digs and two assists.

Air Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Lutheran, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Air Academy will take on rival Discovery Canyon at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Lutheran is set to square off against their familiar foe Palmer Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
