Basketball Recap: Brooklyn Collegiate Comes Up Short

Brooklyn Collegiate was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 92-66 to the Thomas Jefferson Campus Orange Wave. While losing is never fun, Brooklyn Collegiate can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 344th, while Thomas Jefferson Campus is ranked second).

Thomas Jefferson Campus was led to victory by Jahda Swann and Connor Sprattley. Swann dropped a double-double on 31 points and 14 rebounds, while Sprattley dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 boards. Swann is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 20 or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tamir Harper, who posted nine points.

Brooklyn Collegiate's loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Thomas Jefferson Campus, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-1.

Brooklyn Collegiate will square off against Eagle Academy II at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Brooklyn Collegiate knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matches -- so hopefully Eagle Academy II likes a good challenge. Thomas Jefferson Campus has already played their next game (against Erasmus Hall), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
