Volleyball Recap: Dunnellon Tigers vs. Forest Wildcats
Dunnellon had lost five straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 4-7 to make it six. They fell just short of the Forest Wildcats by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.
Mason Beste paced Dunnellon's offense, picking up 14 kills. Beste got some help from Geremy Crouch and his 22 assists. Finally, Kelvin Jacobs kept Dunnellon's defense grounded, leading the team with eight blocks.
As for Forest, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since May 1, 2024.
Forest was led to victory by Kelvin Rivera and Bode Wigginton. Rivera had 11 digs and one assist, while Wigginton had nine digs. That's the most digs Wigginton has posted since back in March.
Dunnellon has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against North Marion on the 22nd. As for Forest, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Beachside on the 18th.
