Basketball Recap: Jefferson Comes Up Short

Jefferson lost against Washington last Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Jefferson Cougars fell 54-43 to the Washington Patriots. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 67th, while the Patriots are ranked 16th).

Jefferson has also been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season. As for Washington, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Cougars take on the Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Washington, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Musselman at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
