Softball Recap: Spring Grove Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Spring Grove's offense. They lost 8-0 to the Houston Hurricanes on Friday. The Lions have struggled against the Hurricanes recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Claire Sherburne spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and four unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

Spring Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Houston, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 16-2.

As of now, neither Spring Grove nor the Hurricanes have any future games scheduled.
