Baseball Game Preview: Broome Centurions vs. Blue Ridge Tigers

Broome hasn't had much luck against Blue Ridge recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Centurions will host the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Broome turned things around against Landrum on Wednesday. They skirted past the Cardinals 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Centurions have posted since March 25th.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Blue Ridge, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Broome 8-7 on Tuesday. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Centurions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Blue Ridge got a big performance out of Holden Powell, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and one RBI. That's the most runs Powell has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Harper Teer, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

Blue Ridge's win bumped their record up to 14-7. As for Broome, their victory bumped their record up to 9-13.
