Football Recap: Mansfield Piles Up the Points Against Rosepine + How To Watch

Mansfield entered their tilt with Rosepine on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Eagles 45-14. The Wolverines have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mansfield to victory, but perhaps none more so than Terrell Pegues, who rushed for 109 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries. Pegues' rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 105 rushing yards. Another player making a difference was Jaterrious Howard, who threw for 166 yards and a pair of TDs on perfect 6-for-6 passing.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Mansfield was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 255 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rosepine only rushed for 28.

Mansfield's record is now 5-2. As for Rosepine, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Looking ahead, Mansfield will host Winnfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wolverines will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 39 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Rosepine, they will head out on the road to challenge Vinton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. This will be the Eagles' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
