Soccer Game Preview: Laguna Beach vs. Sage Hill

The Laguna Beach Breakers will take on the Sage Hill Lightning at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Laguna Beach is headed into Tuesday's following a draw, the team's first since December 16. They and Irvine finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw on Friday.

Laguna Beach's goal came courtesy of Julian Reichel, who's now up to seven this season.

Meanwhile, Sage Hill has been on a difficult stretch since their win on December 2. They lost 3-0 to University on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Lightning can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 869th, while the Trojans are ranked 335th).

With that draw, Laguna Beach's record moves to 6-4-3. As for Sage Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8-2.

Laguna Beach took their win against Sage Hill when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0. Will Laguna Beach repeat their success, or does Sage Hill have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
