Schaumburg had lost five games straight , but after bumping their record up to 6-10 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. They had just enough and edged out the Buffalo Grove Bison 5-4. For the Saxons, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 win the Bison walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

As for Buffalo Grove, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-10-2. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by just one run.

For Buffalo Grove's part, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Justin Smart, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

Coming up, Schaumburg will challenge Hoffman Estates at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. The Saxons are facing the Hawks at the right time seeing as the Hawks are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Buffalo Grove, they will take on Evanston at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
