Soccer Game Preview: Edcouch-Elsa vs. Porter

Edcouch-Elsa is 0-10 against Porter since March of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. The Edcouch-Elsa Yellowjackets are taking a road trip to take on the Porter Cowboys at 7:30 p.m.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Edcouch-Elsa turned things around against Donna on Friday. They and the Redskins finished up their contest with a 2-2 draw. The result (or lack thereof) marked the Yellowjackets' first draw of the season.

Meanwhile, there was early excitement for Porter after they claimed the first goal on Friday, however, they wouldn't score again. They fell just short of Harlingen South by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty five goals in the game before, the Cowboys couldn't push the score so high this time.

Porter's defeat ended a nine-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-5-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 28 goals over those nine games. Edcouch-Elsa's draw gives them a new season record of 2-9-1.

Edcouch-Elsa suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to Porter when the teams last played back in February. Can Edcouch-Elsa avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
