It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Palisade had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Mullen Mustangs 7-6. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Christian Herrera looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kian Kinslow, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylon Larson, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.
Palisade's victory bumped their record up to 17-8. As for Mullen, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season.
