Baseball Recap: Lone Peak Takes a Loss

Lone Peak suffered their closest loss since May 3, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Christian Patriots by a score of 6-4.

Lone Peak got a good showing from Korver Curtis, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Luke Christensen and Bowen Barnes did some serious damage despite the final result: Christensen went 1-for-3 with one home run, while Barnes went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. That home run marked the first that Christensen launched this season. Another player making a difference was Caleb Cathey, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Lone Peak's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

Looking ahead, Lone Peak will take on Westview at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolverines' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Christian, they will face off against Green Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Gators have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
