Game recap: Hammonton defeats Oakcrest

Hammonton (N.J.) kept up a steady attack all game long to beat Oakcrest (Mays Landing, N.J.), 41-10, on Saturday.

The Blue Devils were up 21-3 at the half after taking the lead on a David Williams touchdown run in the first quarter.

Hammonton expanded its lead to 32 points entering the fourth quarter. HHS scored two times in the third, including once on a Christian Mortellite touchdown pass to Williams.

The Falcons' Terrance Smith was the standout player for his team. The freshman running back ran for one touchdown.

The Blue Devils' standout player in the win was Williams. The senior running back ran for one touchdown and caught one touchdown.



Oakcrest's lone touchdown came on a 1-yard run by Smith in the fourth quarter.

A 30-0 Hammonton victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.

Hammonton (2-0) goes up against Egg Harbor Township in a Cape-Atlantic - American game matchup next week, while Oakcrest (1-2) locks horns with Cedar Creek in a non-conference game.
