Soccer Game Preview: Wakefield vs. McLean

Wakefield is 0-3 against McLean since May of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. The Warriors will host the Highlanders at 7:15 p.m. Wakefield's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Wakefield is headed into Tuesday's game following a draw, the team's first since March 18. Neither they nor South County could gain the upper hand last Thursday so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw. Wakefield had to tread lightly for part of the contest as Andrew Soto and Bruce Gonzales Cordova were both handed yellow cards, which could explain the final result.

Gonzales Cordova and Ricardo Perez-Justiniano scored both of Wakefield's goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

Meanwhile, McLean kept a clean sheet against Fairfax last Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Lions. McLean might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by three goals or more this season.

McLean's win bumped their record up to 5-1-1. With that draw, Wakefield's record moves to 4-1-2.
