Baseball Recap: Pyramid Lake Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Pyramid Lake proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 15) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 12-10 win over the Mineral County Serpents. With that victory, the Lakers brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

Nataani Bitsilly was a standout: he scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-5. Pyramid Lake is 3-1 when Bitsilly posts two or more runs, but 2-5 otherwise. Thomas Hunter also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

The win was the third in a row for Pyramid Lake, bringing their record up to 5-6. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Mineral County, they dropped their record down to 5-7 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Serpents beat Pyramid Lake by a score of 5-4 later that day.
