Baseball Recap: Oberlin Comes Up Short

Oberlin fell victim to Black River and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Pirates, falling 8-0. The Phoenix just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Oberlin saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Rosenthal, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases. Rosenthal is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

Oberlin's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Black River, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oberlin will welcome Wellington at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Dukes have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.22 runs per game on average), something the Phoenix will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Black River, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cornerstone Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
