Basketball Recap: Spanish Springs Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Corner Canyon

Spanish Springs is ranked highly in their home state and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Corner Canyon. The Spanish Springs Cougars took a 56-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Corner Canyon Chargers. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aaliyah Vance, who went 7 for 9 on her way to 14 points. Mackenzie Chase was another key player, putting up ten points and four steals.

Spanish Springs' loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Corner Canyon, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.

Spanish Springs didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 45-31 victory against Torrey Pines on the 30th. As for Corner Canyon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 68-48 defeat against JSerra Catholic on the 30th.
