Softball Game Preview: La Crosse Logan Rangers vs. Holmen Vikings

La Crosse Logan hasn't had much luck against Holmen recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Rangers will head out to challenge the Vikings at 5:00 p.m. La Crosse Logan will be strutting in after a victory while Holmen will be coming in after a defeat.

On Tuesday, La Crosse Logan beat Black River Falls 12-7. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rangers.

Kenna Streeck and Maria Weber did most of the damage at the plate: Streeck went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs, while Weber went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one triple. Weber continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Norah Reineking also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Holmen's offense. They fell just short of La Crosse Central by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Vikings have suffered since April 8th.

La Crosse Logan's win bumped their record up to 4-12. As for Holmen, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

La Crosse Logan might still be hurting after the 9-2 defeat they got from Holmen in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Rangers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
